Elle est pratiquée en Afrique du Nord et dans le Moyen-Orient et se décline en musique savante et musique populaire. La musique du Liban sinscrit dans ce grand ensemble de formes et de traditions variées. La musique du groupe Mawaran puise son inspiration à cette abondante source. Les chants et les textes, composés au Liban, expriment dans un climat méditatif les chemins du dévoilement de la conscience, limpatience des corps en une quête libératoire.
